Fargo CoreCon will be hosting an Art Show to celebrate our community's appreciation for artwork under the cultural umbrella of all things geeky.
Artists contributing to the art show can choose to put their works up for a silent auction in which all proceeds go directly to the artist.
Submission Deadline: April 4th 2012.
Submission Guidelines:
- Must not infringe on copyrights. This includes using photography, artwork, or other related materials owned by another person or entity without their permission. Even if you have manipulated the work to "make it your own" you still require permission from the owner of the source material.
- Fan Art is acceptable when 100% of the artwork has been created by the artist and the owner is credited. Fan Art is not permitted into the Art Auction, but is welcomed as a part of the Art Show.
- Erotic content is not permitted. Nudity is perfectly fine if it is not depicted in a sexual manner.
- Sculptures are permitted, however you should contact us regarding the size of the sculpture so we can determine whether we can display it or not.
Artwork Selection:
All artwork will be carefully considered, but there may be cases where we must deny submissions for various reasons.
- Art must meet the submission guidelines.
- Art contents should fit in with the general interests of the convention's attendees. Such interests include but are not limited to:
- Genres such as Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, Steampunk, and Anime.
- Fan art related to literature, comics/graphic novels, films, animation, or games.
- Artwork directly related to the convention's annual theme.
- Technical quality of artwork will rarely be taken into account.
- Medium and contextual diversity may be important factors if we end up with more submissions than we have the physical capacity for.
- Depending on the number of submissions, we may not be able to accept more than one submission per person.
