Sponsoring CoreCon
Core Con has several sponsorship opportunities for companies and organizations alike.
Hospitality suite sponsorship – CoreCon often hosts fan-designed and run themed hospitality suites where attendees can enjoy movies, music, food, drinks and more. Sponsors have the option to pay for the room for a particular suite or pay for or donate decorations and/or food. If the suite accepts the donation, the sponsor will be mentioned as such on the hospitality suite’s ad in the program guide as well as with a poster or banner in the suite.
Guest sponsorship – Guests are an important part of CoreCon, and can sometimes be the most expensive aspect of a particular convention. Sponsors may provide CoreCon with guests by paying for the guest’s plane ticket and hotel reservation. Typically, CoreCon is aware of what guests they wish to invite a year ahead of time, so often sponsors paying for guests will not have a choice in what guest they will help to fund. If this is important to a prospective sponsor, it may certainly be discussed as an option with the Guest Liaison. Guest sponsors will be noted with a poster or banner wherever the guests are stationed, and are also mentioned in the Program Guide.
Financial sponsorship – CoreCon has a variety of aspects that may be helped with a monetary donation. Sponsors may donate money to the entire CoreCon project or to particular aspects of it. Financial sponsors are noted in the CoreCon Program Guide and website, if desired.
Prize sponsorship – CoreCon hosts several contests for attendees to participate in. Prize sponsors may pay for a prize to be given away to the winners of contests or in a general drawing. Prize sponsors are noted at the time of the contest’s conclusion.
Equipment sponsorship – Some sponsors may have access to equipment useful to CoreCon such as movie projectors and screens, video cameras and audio equipment. Such equipment may be donated to CoreCon for use during the convention. Equipment sponsors are noted in the Program Guide.
The particulars of sponsorship must be discussed with the CoreCon Sponsor Liaison so that a proper contract may be created to suit the needs of CoreCon and the sponsor.
At times a sponsor may wish to provide more aid or money than would typically be considered. In cases such as this other opportunities may be agreed upon such as free advertising on the CoreCon website or in the Program Guide outside of the standard notations. Prospective sponsors may discuss this with the Sponsor Liaison.
