To all of our friends, family, and special guests:
CoreCon has made the decision to transition our convention in 2021 to a virtual convention as we continue to deal with the COVID-19/Coronavirus.
After long discussion, keeping in consideration everyone’s health and well being, we all feel the most responsible course of action is to transition CoreCon 2021, to be held in May 2021, to a virtual one where we can geek out in a safe and responsible matter. To be clear, this decision is only in place for this year, 2021. CoreCon has full intentions to return to the Fargo Holiday Inn on May 26-29, 2022, returning to our normally scheduled program.
CoreCon has also decided to transition from the theme of The Great Age of Dragons. We realize that people may have spent the last year and a half preparing their Cosplay, Fansuite, or wares for an in-person convention. We will save the theme for when it is safe to again have a convention in person.
In transitioning to a virtual convention, there will be no cost to attend our 2021 convention, which will primarily be held utilizing Discord.
Please understand this is not a decision we are taking lightly or in haste. We want to ensure the safety of our guests, vendors, fansuites, Inner Core and volunteers. Also keeping in mind the continued border crossing closing between the US and Canada, along with numerous individuals having decreased hours or losing employment.
If you are able, please consider supporting the independent artists, vendors, and special guests who are losing income with these continued uncertain times.
If you have already pre-registered or paid for vendor tables, your spot for 2022 is guaranteed and you need to do nothing. If you signed up for a fansuite your deposit will be refunded, and you can re-apply for 2022. We do understand that it may be problematic making plans this far out or you may have other extenuating circumstances now that the convention is virtual, so if you would like a refund, please email registration@FargoCoreCon.org.
We thank you all for your support over the years, and for your understanding in this very difficult time. We wish you health and safety and hope to see you in Fargo on May 26-29, 2022.
Once again, we are incredibly sorry that we were not able to provide you with a great in-person convention this year.
Continue to stay safe. We love you all.
